Sampling means hip-hop, of course. Tonight at WNYC’s New Sounds, John Schaefer is checking into classical sampling. So far, he’s dropped Phillip K. Bimstein’s Bushy-Wushy Rag (reminding us that Opening Day is around the corner, even if Busch Stadium is no more) and Steve Reich’s City Life.
