Media and Miners, Part II

WBEZ recently added CBC’s As It Happens to its evening lineup. Tonight, their lead story was a moving interview with Zoe Ludski, the news director of WDNE radio in Buckhannon, West Virginia. “I am a community member first,” she says. Apologetically, she expresses anger at the national media’s behavior of shoving cameras into family members’ faces and yelling obscenities at state officials to not block their cameras.

I look forward to Jay Rosen’s thoughts on the media coverage of the miders.
