The iTunes TV Effect: Audience for the Office almost doubles

Lost Remote links to TVWeek‘s report on the booming success NBC’s The Office:

up 88 percent over last season. Meanwhile, the show is a big hit on the iTunes store, routinely dominating the list of the most popular TV shows. “NBC is confident that the iPod exposure contributed to the rise,” reports TVWeek.

(Meanwhile, my local PBS station, WTTW, has been running Ricky Gervais’ original The Office, the only one worth watching in my book.)
